Final World Cup of Hockey Rosters

CHICAGO, IL -- Hey, looks like some of my predictions came true about who's going to be on what lineups!

The final rosters were released throughout the day today, and as I suspected in this post, a few more Hawks were added to the rosters!

(New additions in bold):

CANADA: Toews, Crawford, Keith
USA: Kane
RUSSIA: Anisimov, Panarin
EUROPE: Hossa, Ehrhoff
FINLAND: Teravainen, Pokka
SWEDEN: Hjalmarsson, Kruger
CZECH REP: Kempny

I'm surprised to see that Seabrook didn't get a bid for Canada's team, honestly. I know he didn't have a spectacular year, but... still.

Anyways, there you have it! 13 Hawks in the World Cup of Hockey 2016! That's pretty impressive, and I'd venture to say that they have the most players in the tournament. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they do.

At least we've got something to look forward to before October, right?

(Although, can we talk about the Sharks? Another post, another post...)

Checking In - Breaking Down the Blackhawks' Play Over a Month

CHICAGO, IL — I’m going to be absolutely real with you—I had no idea what to write about for the blog this week. I’ve written about the Blackhawks being good, bad, and everything in between, I’ve written about Patrick Kane a couple times now (#Kane4Hart), and I’ve even written about the best goal celebrations from the Hawks this season. Break-Up Day - Blackhawks End of Season Locker Room Clean Out

CHICAGO, IL — After a nice finish on the season with wins over the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars (and a loss to the Nashville Predators that we're going to ignore), the Blackhawks are officially in the off-season. The team held their annual locker room clean out, and I thought there were a lot of great takeaways from the clean out day. Obviously, the Hawks didn’t finish where they wanted to, but I think that was made up for when they moved from the 12th overall pick to the 3rd pick in the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery that took place on Tuesday. I’ll probably do a quick piece on who the Hawks should be looking at and what their options are for the draft in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that. Ain't No Sunshine - Hawks Recap (11/16 - 11/22)

CHICAGO, IL -- I'm undecided on this week, honestly. Certainly not their worst week of outings, but not really their best, either. I just kind of... wished it'd gone better? Especially since the Hawks' schedule is getting kind of gnarly here. I don't think they're in the dark, or completely out of it at this point--as I've reiterated a gazillion times to family, friends and the interwebs: they don't hand out the Cup in November. I really do think that they'll be okay, even if this week wasn't great.
